In May 2016 I will be taking on the challenge of trekking Peru’s famous Inca Trail with a team of wonderful people, all united by their sense of adventure and dedication to making a difference.
Over the last 10 years I have participated in several Shave for a Cure's with the Leukaemia Foundation and have both shaved my head and coloured my hair. This year I felt like it was time for a real challenge, one that pushed me physically and allowed me to really put back into a foundation that I benefited from as a child with blood cancer.

My Backstory
During April of 1996 whilst living on Rottnest Island and suffering from numerous reoccurring ear infections an amazing ENT Doctor suspected something more sinister and sent me off for some blood tests, by the time we had hopped off the last boat ferry and arrived home we were receiving phone calls asking us to return immediately to Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. Several tests later we received a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). I finished chemotherapy a few years later at the age of 10.

Why Donate?
Without organisations like the Leukaemia Foundation those years would have been so much harder for myself but especially my family. The role that this foundation plays in education and support of families suffering for blood cancers can make a significant difference!
Today, 34 Australians will get the news they have blood cancer. That's another 34 reasons to support the Leukaemia Foundation's work – providing practical and emotional support to people facing the challenge of blood cancer, as well as investing in vital research to find better treatments and cures. Across Australia, 60,000 people are going through this in right now - please sponsor me and help me reach my goal.
