In March 2015 someone very special to me was diagnosed with blood cancer. In order for this person to survive, she needed to have monthly blood transfusions. As the disease progressed she needed to have weekly blood transfusions and that was still not enough to keep her alive. This disease totally ravaged her body and she deteriorated in front of our eyes. I was slowly watching my nana die and there was nothing I could do about it. In December 2016 she lost her battle, she could not fight anymore and we had to say our goodbyes.
As a memory for my nana and to show support for anyone else suffering with this disease, I have decided to take on a fundraising challenge and trek the Great Wall of China in June 2019.
Sponsor me and you’ll help me achieve so much!
Today, 35 Australians will get the news they have blood cancer. That's another 35 reasons to support the Leukaemia Foundation's work – providing practical and emotional support to people facing the challenge of blood cancer, as well as investing in vital research to find better treatments and cures.
Across Australia, 60,000 people are going through this in right now.
Please help me on this emotional journey and help me meet my fundraising target to support the Leukaemia Foundation.
