In June 2019 I will be taking on a huge challenge - both physically and emotionally, as I trek the Great Wall of China to help beat blood cancer.
Sponsor me and you’ll help me achieve so much!
Most of you know my passion for the Leukaemia Foundation and my desire to support families impacted by blood cancer through my work at the Foundation and in personal life. It's something that I'm proud of and am now looking forward to taking this passion to a higher level, quite literally!
Today, 35 Australians will be told that they have blood cancer.
I have been one of them twice.
It was a very hard part of my life and I am so incredibly grateful to now have my health and my family and friends.
I will be celebrating my health as I take on the thousands of steep steps during my trek and hope that with each step I can make a difference to the lives of others who need our help.
I will also be trekking to remember my dear friend Matt Jackson, who we lost on October 5, 2018 to leukaemia.
He was just 30 years old and was the most wonderful friend to us all and loving husband to Susie. I will carry my Light the Night ribbon for him as I undertake this challenge - I'd like to think he would be proud of me and would probably be sending me daily memes of people having to be dragged up the stairs if he could!
I'll also be representing the Leukaemia Foundation as the official Adventure Ambassador and look forward to encouraging, supporting and hopefully inspiring my fellow trekkers as we share this journey together and achieve great things by raising vital funds.
I know firsthand the impact that a blood cancer diagnosis can make - and I would love your support in raising much needed funds for vital research to help beat blood cancer.
Please sponsor me and help me reach my $5,000 goal.
Thank you so much!
