Sponsor me and you’ll help me achieve so much!
Today, 35 Australians will get the news they have blood cancer. That's another 35 reasons to support the Leukaemia Foundation's work – providing practical and emotional support to people facing the challenge of blood cancer, as well as investing in vital research to find better treatments and cures. Across Australia, 60,000 people are going through this in right now - please sponsor me and help me reach my goal.
So many of us have lost someone we care about to Leukemia or another type of cancer. This is my way of raising health awareness and supporting a worthy charity. It is also a personal challenge that I have wanted to undertake for many years.
I am fortunate that these two goals have come together to allow me to participate in Trekking the Kokoda Trail – following the 96km of rugged terrain, rainforest and unspoilt villages that our soldiers campaigned through from July – November 1942.
No stranger to fundraising, I have participated in a number of fun runs and dry July over the years, nothing though will prepare me for Kokoda like hard work and the support of friends and family.
Now, I ask you again, please help me to help others;
$120 can fund a scholarship to give support to a major blood cancer research project, for one day
$80 can accommodate a regional family for a night to keep them together during treatment
$52 can support someone during a hospital visit from our qualified Cancer Support Team
$36 can give emotional support after diagnosis to help someone through the shock and distress
$27 can provide a cancer information pack to help a family prepare for challenges ahead
