So I am the Belgian's U.G.L.Y. Bartender nominee for the U.G.L.Y. campaign 2019 in partnership with the Leukaemia Foundation. U.G.L.Y. Bartender fundraiser which stands for Understanding, Generous, Likeable You. Most of you will know that since the age of 10 I have carried with me an immune disease were by my white blood cells don't function as normal. This has caused me to feel ill multiple times in the 24 years I have dealt with this disease since my childhood diagnoses. A doctor once described my condition as a non cancerous leukaemia and for that I consider myself really lucky. However the people and families that I will be raising money for this campaign do not live with such luxury. Leukaemia whilst treatable if detected early is still a serious condition and unfortunately takes the lives of many too soon.

Nonetheless we have an opportunity to make a difference here by donating to my U.G.L.Y. campaign. I believe we all have the power to make the world a better place, I believe that when push comes to shove we have an innate ability to want to help each other. By donating to the campaign we can help to assist those who without our support my not be able to afford the cost associated with treating their Leukaemia, Hodgkins disease and myeloma. Every $80 I raise helps the Leukaemia Foundation provide one night's free accommodation for someone with blood cancer and their carer. This vital service provides a home-away-from-home for regional families who need to relocate to the city for treatment.

I met one such family the other day who is at this moment benefiting from the U.G.L.Y. campaign. To see the amazing work of the Leukaemia Foundation in action really brought home why fundraising is so crucial, to easing the burden on families already trying to deal with blood related cancer. Its the most amazing food for the soul this fundraising and I hope you all can find it in your hearts to support my campaign, together we can leave the world much more brighter.
