I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
I am the principal of St Michael's Primary School, Meadowbank, and early this year we learnt that one of our Year 1 students, Nicholas, has been diagnosed with Leukaemia.
To show the support of our whole community for Nicholas and all sufferers of Leukaemia, I'm taking part in the World's Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation! On Thursday, March 11 I will have my hair shaved at the school.
Every day another 47 Australians are diagnosed with a blood cancer. That's one Aussie every 31 minutes. Although research is improving survival, sadly an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every two hours.
Please sponsor me to give families facing blood cancer the emotional and practical support they need. You'll also fund vital research to help more people survive blood cancers, while improving their quality of life. Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
My initial aim was to raise $5,000. People were so generous that this was reached on the first day of sponsorship. Having set new goals of $10,000 and then $15,000 which so many generous people have helped me to surpass, my new goal is to raise at least $20,000. Will you help by sponsoring me?
