I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
In 2001 my grandfather, Alan, passed away with Leukaemia. Since then, it's been a personal, and a family tradition to participate in the World's Greatest Shave.
In 2008 I shaved my dreads off and raised over $2000. This year, I'm shaving the beard, which I've been growing for the last 5 years.
I've saved a lot of money by not buying razors these last 5 years, so I'll be donating that, but I need your help too. I can't do this on my own.
Please sponsor me to give families facing blood cancer the emotional and practical support they need. You'll also fund vital research to help more people survive blood cancers, while improving their quality of life.
Every day another 47 Australians are diagnosed with a blood cancer. That's one Aussie every 31 minutes. Although research is improving survival, sadly an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every two hours.
Do I even have a chin? What does 12 year old Frenchie look like? Sponsor me today to find out!
EDIT: 12:15pm WHOAH!! We hit the original goal of $2,000 in just under 5 hours... I'm blown away. We've still got a month to go!
Thank you all for your incredible support. I'm going to shoot for the next level: $5k.
Also, some people really want me to keep the beard.
Love the beard? Donate an odd $ amount to keep
Hate the beard? Donate an even $ amount to shave
Hate cancer? Do both!
If the dollar amounts are equal on the 14th of March, I'll shave half... This might be a terrible idea.
Edit 2: You're amazing! We've sailed past $5k... and we still have 19 days to go! Next goal: $10k, which will help 300 families deal with the shock and emotional trauma that comes with a diagnosis of blood cancer. Thank you once again for your generous support, and please consider a like/share so that those you care about can support too.
