I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
Before I start my story i wanted to say thank you to all the people who are donating in loving memory of my late uncle, Hary Amalan, he was a great man. It is amazing to see how many lives he touched, while being here on Earth.
We lived in Dubai for a long time, then after moving here, we bought a puppy. Within a year of having him he sadly got a tumor, another a year later he sadly got another tumor. This forever changed me, I never will take anyone for granted because anything can happen. He was my most special companion, and still is.
My Grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, it was impactful on her life and my families. She wanted to shave her head as well, but never got around to doing it.
In 2015 my family friend, Aisha was diagnosed with leukaemia blood cancer. I was heartbroken to find out that she passed away, on 24 November 2016. We were only six years old.
A few years ago my family was informed that my uncle had cancer, they had told my family that it was terminal. My uncle had children, that were close to my age, they were very close to their dad. When my uncle passed, it was definitely hard for them to survive without him.
When we moved to Australia, the most inviting teacher was Ms McClure. All my life, I have loved Music, and everything to do with it. Ms McClure was a Music teacher, who was by far my favourite. At the end of 2019 she passed away from cancer. I didnt exept that, when she was such an amazing teacher.
I have wanted to do the World’s Greatest Shave for a really long time now. There was always a part of me that knew that it wasn’t the right time yet. When my school gave us the opportunity to shave our heads, cut or dye, I realized that this was the time to do it.
The next night night me and my Mum measured my hair to see if it was long enough for me to donate it. When we found out that my hair was more than long enough, I decided I should shave it.
I am going to shave my head for a greater cause! In loving memory of:
My Favourite teacher
My Friend
My Uncle
My Dog (He is okay now)
My Grandmother (She is okay now)
