My Message
In April this year, I heard the words "You have blood cancer". Not what I was expecting to hear in my mid 30s. When the Doctor dropped the C word a million thoughts went through my mind and none of them positive. After some further tests I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.
On the evening of Saturday 16 October, I am taking part in Light the Night because blood cancer has touched my life.
Funds raised through this special event provide families facing blood cancer with the care needed to make it through every scary, uncertain moment that follows a diagnosis.
Donations also transform fear into hope in life-changing ways by furthering the work of brilliant research scientists. This research is saving lives right now as it continues to discover faster diagnoses and even better treatments for people with blood cancer. Because of these amazing discoveries, what once would have been a life sentence for me, is now a manageable situation.
Please help me reach my goal and sponsor me to Light the Night.
