I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
I WILL BRAVE THE SHAVE.... Curious about my 'WHY'? During lockdown, I reassessed all the worldly things surrounding me - one of them being my hair. Thoughts, of a colleague from a former workplace, would often pay me a visit [and - so welcomingly - pranced around]. Not grasping the all-of-a-sudden random surge of memories (amidst a world in, what felt like was a, standstill), one thing that did make traction was the idea of going bald for a cause. Reflecting then, on our [perhaps many] warranted complainings of hair and its upkeep, let another also - those possibly facing their hardest battle yet in a very uncertain journey. Loss of hair acts as a visual reminder of the mental, emotional and physical distress a blood cancer patient endures.
