I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
The 29th of October will be the 3rd time I have cut and donated my hair since 2015, and I've decided if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right and shave it all off!
My 'reasons':
- That moment where I roll over in my sleep but my husband is laying on my hair
- Greatly reduced shampoo and conditioner consumption
- Great bald Halloween costume options
- North Queensland summer
- Regrowing hair perfect for crazy hair days
- Literally a weight off my shoulders
The real reasons:
- Over a hundred thousand people, and their families, are facing blood cancer across Australia.
- 50 plus more will recieve their diagnosis tomorrow.
- $30 provides an information pack to a family to help them understand and prepare for the challenges ahead following a scary and confronting new diagnosis.
- $80 provides the first night of accommodation for a family who have urgently relocated for lifesaving treatment with nowhere to stay.
- $150 means that the work of a PhD scholarship recipient is supported for another day. This brilliant scientist could discover the next great breakthrough towards a cure thanks to you.
-The Leukaemia Foundation's mission is to aceive zero lives lost to blood cancer by 2035
- Cut ponytails have the power to become a charitable wig for someone suffering from cancer, and give them back their confidence!
- It takes 20 ponytails to make just one wig - Thats why EVERY PONYTAIL MATTERS!
- Any hair clippings too short for wigs is stuffed into stockings to make sausage-shaped Hair Booms that can absorb up to 4L of oil in a spill on land or at sea.
I'd love for people to get involved, donate if they can, share with their friends and family and help all those impacted by blood cancer.
