I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
Cut or shave - you decide! Yep you read that right - If I reach my personal fundraising goal i will shave my head; otherwise I will be chopping my locks to rock a shorter do. And dont forget to spread the word; every little bit helps. Now for the serious stuff: -Every day another 53 Australians are diagnosed with a blood cancer. Thats one Aussie every 27 minutes. -Right now, more than 135,000 Australians are living with blood cancer or related disorders. -Blood cancer claims more lives than breast cancer and melanoma combined, and sadly an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every two hours. -The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to helping more Australians with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related disorders survive their blood cancer and live a better quality of life. -WGS recycles hair thanks to Sustainable Salons - Many of the ponytails snipped from those taking part in events will now be turned into wigs for those with cancer, while shorter hair clippings will be transformed into compost and even floating booms to absorb oil spills at sea. -
