I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
I have always wanted to take part in The Worlds Greatest Shave but I never had the courage. I was so focused on my hair and thinking it was too important for my appearance, confidence, and I was too worried about people judging me.
Sometimes we are so caught up in our own lives that we forget to take a second to think about the people who are going through these life altering events.
Every day over 50 Australians are diagnosed with a blood cancer, that's one Aussie every 28 minutes.
My dad was part of that statistic. Many, many years ago my dad was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma (a rare, fast growing blood cancer)
Dad did survive but it was a tough, emotional and stressful journey for both Mum and Dad. Mum also had to take care of him, along with 4 young girls.
The older I get the more aware I am; how heart breaking these situations are, and that not everyone faces that same fate my dad had. so I want to do something kind in this pretty cruel world.
I would be forever grateful if you could sponsor me and support me during this little journey!
The money you donate will provide families with the special care and support that they need to make it through their darkest days. You will also help brilliant research scientists continue their search for better ways to diagnose and treat blood cancer more effectively, and ultimately find a cure.
