I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
Cancer, it is a word that can strike fear in the strongest men and women, but not Michelle. My beautiful friend Sammy has unfortunately been through a very difficult year with the loss of her mum, Michelle. Michelle had a very short journey with this awful disease, after getting bad headaches she got some blood work done and on the Tuesday was told she had Leukaemia. Unfortunately, Michelles vitals were too low to operate so she was admitted into hospital with the hope to stabilise. Michelle crossed her final bridge on the Friday night, losing her short battle. Even when Michelle was laying in her hospital bed she was smiling, chatting and reassuring her loved ones.
We have all been touched by this disease in one way or another, whether it is a family member or a friend. Because of Michelle’s strength and Sammy’s friendship I have decided to take part in the Worlds Greatest Shave this March, in the hopes that others can be diagnosed sooner to have a better chance at fighting this disease.
