I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
Every day, 53 Australians are diagnosed with blood cancer, and 16 will lose their life. In May 2022 Dad was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukaemia, a diagnosis that turned our world upside down.
He has undergone 8 months of intense chemo, numerous bone marrow biopsies and countless blood tests and transfusions. In December we received the amazing news that Dad is in remission. Even though he is in remission there is still a 50-70% chance of relapse. We’ve won this battle but the war’s not over.
That's why I will be shaving and donating my hair in the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave. Not just for Dad, but for all family and friends who have been effected by Leukaemia or Lymphoma.
I'll be raising crucial funds that help give those facing blood cancer all the support and information they need, while driving breakthrough research projects discovering better ways to diagnose and treat blood cancer.
We are so grateful for our new lease on life. So this is for you Dad, one of the strongest people I know.
What’s my hair compared to someone’s life!
