When my mum Thora was diagnosed with lung and brain cancer 16 years ago, I started by donating blood regularly. Back then, I promised myself, one day I will be brave enough to shave my head to raise money to support cancer research and sufferers.
In September 2022, mum finally succumbed to cancer. After seeing how bravely she fought that last battle, I knew I needed to make good on my promise. After all, what is a little hair between friends?!
So after having long hair for almost 20 years, I am shaving it all off and donating the hair to make wigs for children suffering with cancer.
Any cancer is insidious, regardless of type, and any money raised to help research ways to better diagnose and treat cancer is money well invested.
Like me, I am sure you have had someone in your life who has been impacted by cancer. It makes you feel helpless and hopeless. But you have the power to help me make an extraordinary difference.
Big or small, every donation counts.
Will you help by sponsoring me?
