Towards the end of 2019, I was inspired to donate my hair through the world's greatest shave. I was ready for a cut and I wanted to do something to give back.
Then, Melbourne lockdowns hit and when we came out of lockdown 2 years later my hair had grown past my shoulders. I thought, yep! This is going to be the year. My hair was about 25cm long at the beginning of 2022... enough to donate for an adult wig. However, I hadn't dyed my hair in over 5 years and virgin hair is the only kind accepted for children's wigs. So I decided to stick it out for another 12months.
My hair is now over 35cm and will be used to make wigs for children. They could be suffering from alopecia, going through chemotherapy treatment or battling cancer at such young ages.
Over the 3years I've learnt a lot about the world's greatest shave in preparation for this. Every day, 53 Aussies are diagnosed with blood cancer, and 16 will lose their life.
I'll be raising crucial funds that help give those facing blood cancer all the support and information they need, while driving breakthrough research projects discovering better ways to diagnose and treat blood cancer.
You have the power to help me make an extraordinary difference.
Big or small, every donation counts.
Will you help by sponsoring me?
