I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
In March 2020, COVID hit, my daughter Avery was born, and I had a haircut. I'm sure you'll agree all monumental and life altering moments.
Lots has returned to normal, or maybe "new normal" since then, but not my haircut schedule. So it is time to get that sorted! Of course it also has to be done in style, so I'll be going from man bun to shaved head on the 2nd November!
It is only fair that my barber Javier @ Billy Shears Barbers gets to do the honours, since growing this hair has cost him all that haircut money!
I'm proud to also be donating the hair to Sustainable Salons, the long locks (over 20cm ) will become wigs, and the rest will be used in the process of creating "Hair Booms" that are used to soak up oil spills.
I am also of course raising crucial funds that help give those facing blood cancer all the support and information they need, while driving breakthrough research projects discovering better ways to diagnose and treat blood cancer.
With no screening programs available and no means of prevention through lifestyle changes, blood cancer is Australia's hidden cancer crisis.
Every day, 53 Aussies are diagnosed with blood cancer, and 16 will lose their life.
Big or small, every donation counts. Please get involved if you can!
