I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
My family has been scarred by Leukemia. At the age of 26, my cousin Ross' life was suddenly cut far too short. No one should have to feel the pain of losing a son, brother, cousin or friend at such a young age; his life had just begun. In the last few years, my uncle was also diagnosed with Leukemia. Thankfully, his diagnosis was of a rare variant of blood cancer which is highly manageable, and to this day is doing well. I am shaving my head for Ross, so that families like my own and those of the 16 people who die every day from blood cancer are no longer affected by this terrible disease.
I have been growing out my hair since May 2021 and can think of no better way to part with it than helping to fund breakthrough research projects discovering better ways to diagnose and treat blood cancer. I will be donating my hair to the team at Sustainable Salons to assist in making a wig for someone suffering from cancer.
I deeply appreciate any donation amount you can afford, every little bit helps!
In addition, the person who donates the highest amount will have the option to enjoy shearing 30 months of hair off my head in a matter of minutes. Buzz buzz! To help me coordinate before the day, I'll select the highest donation as of 12:00am (midnight) 6th December.
Thank you everyone for your support, together we can make a difference.
P.S: As a double whammy, I'm also growing a moe (yes I know I could pass off as a good used car salesman) and will be personally donating to Movember to help support men's health and prostate cancer.
