I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
Well I've decided to start my 17th fund raising campaign on Australia day, a day I see as one to celebrate all that we are today and what we could be tomorrow. Equally importantly it's a day to reflect on the wrong doings and ignorance of the past so we never repeat the pain of the past. Sadly some look to make the day a divisive day rather than focus on what we could do together to make everyone's life better. Such is the dichotomy of the human race!
It seems we are more likely to cure cancer, an affliction not of our doing (mostly) , rather than stop each other from the preventable cruelty of war and modern slavery. Australians of the year, Professor Georgina Long AO and Professor Richard Scolyer AO, deservedly won their award for their achievements in Melanoma research saving thousands of lives. At the same time distant wars have taken the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocents – sadly stopping cancer is clearly easier than stopping humans. Together lets focus on what we can do.
SO - Help Me, to Help Them, To Help Others.
There are 140,000 families facing blood cancer right now. And it takes the lives of 16 Australians every day. These numbers are set to double by 2035. Yet again I had friends and family hit with Leukaemia last year and sadly I'm aware many of you have had similar experiences. But together we can help.
Firstly , THANK YOU all for your support over so many years. The last 2 years we have been the #1 individual fundraiser and the largest fundraiser of all time. Of course now we want a hat trick this year!
Now I know we had a hard economic year last year, and I know you showed restraint, and I know interest rates are going to tumble, and you will be flash with cash this year.
So hit me and yourself with some sugar - help yourself to a spritz, negroni and wine, preferably all three, and then jump on the site below and show your love for saving humankind before we all ascend to the AI cloud……….
Appropriately I'm taking it all off on the 1st April. So Go Hard and hit the link below to donate. Thank you
