I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
I turn 35 in April and I've decided that before I descend on the "downhill slope to 40", I'm going to tick a bucket list item off and
* I AM GOING TO SHAVE MY HEAD!! *
Call it brave, call it crazy, call it a mid-life crisis or whatever you wish; but it's happening!! And I would love it if you could please support me in raising awareness of blood cancers and to raise funds for the incredible work that the Leukaemia Foundation do when it comes to research, but also on-the-ground practical and emotional supports for over 140 000 families who are facing blood cancer right now.
If you are one of the privy ones who happen to know my biggest motivation for doing this, I urge you to please dig deep. If you think I'm just nuts, well, dig deeper! Haha!
Any amount is appreciated and I might be dreaming too big here or valuing my hair too much haha but I would love to be able to raise at least $5000 to go towards the Leukaemia Foundation. So even if it means sacrificing your morning coffee and having a Moccona instead, just so that you can donate $5 to me.. every dollar is so appreciated, so thank you!
If you can't afford to donate, I would love so much for you to please share my page. I have left it a little late with only one month to go until the big shave! So we need to get cracking!!
Thanks everyone! I love and appreciate all of you wonderful people in my life!
EDIT!
We have absolutely smashed the original goal of $5000! I am so grateful for all of the amazing people in my immediate and extended network.. thank you all!
I have been so blown away by how many people have reached out to me since committing to the shave. It started off as doing it for someone special to me (who I haven't named because it's not my story to share) but since putting it out there I have been overwhelmed with stories from people reaching out to say how much the Leukaemia Foundation have supported them or someone close to them.. it's so much bigger than just me and shaving my hair off and I feel so grateful to everyone who has reached out to share their stories.. it makes the thought of being bald so much more bearable!
Speaking of bald!! We have changed the fundraising goal to $15000 because the beautiful Claire (from Rambla) has said that if we can reach that, she will also shave her hair!!
Not only that, my gorgeous husband gasped at how much money that is, he exclaimed that "even he" would shave his head for $15k!
So here we are folks!! Let's try our hardest to not only raise more money for such an incredible foundation, but also get these two bald as well!!
EDIT #2:
Wow! This has taken right off and it's looking more and more like we might make (and potentially smash!) the new $15k goal!! You guys have been incredible!! Thank you!
A big thank you also, to all of the local businesses who have contributed towards our raffles etc! We have some fantastic prizes up for grabs so please see my Facebook page for details on how to enter. Raffles will be drawn on the night of the shave.
