I’m helping to beat blood cancer by taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave!
I'm taking part in the World's Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation!
You only have to mention blood cancer and you’ll soon come across someone who’s faced with the disease themselves, or who knows and loves someone who’s been diagnosed. The number of Australians impacted by this disease is overwhelming.
In Australia today, 47 people will be told they have a blood cancer (such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma). That means every 31 minutes, an Aussie hears the words “you have blood cancer”. Many of these people are kids as blood cancer also continues to remain the most commonly diagnosed childhood cancer accounting for over 40% of all diagnoses and sadly that number is continuing to rise.
This year I'll be shaving my head… yes, including my mullet! to help raise funds and bring attention to this worthy cause. The funds we raise will be going to help others in the hopes we can give families facing blood cancer the emotional and practical support they need. You'll also fund vital research to help more people survive blood cancers, while improving their quality of life.
