Phil's Dive for a Cure is a fundraising event in memory of a well respected member of the Tasmanian Dive community and family man Phil Malkin. Phil passed away in late January this year to ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia) after a very courageous and honourable 3 and half fight with blood cancer.
Phil’s final wish was to hold an event to raise the much needed funds for the LF in gratitude for the continued and dedicated support received by Phil and his family throughout the battle. This year Phil’s two young children Charlea and Beau alongside wife Tach will continue his legacy by participating in his last wish – "Phil’s Dive for a cure". The event will encompass a Dive, paddle and swim with the Dive to be lead by 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son.
The inaugural "Phil's Dive for a cure" will take place on 8 November 2015 at Bicheno on the East coast. Held for the first time this year in memory of a well respected member of the Diving community, our goal is to raise vital funds that will be used for the LF in gratitude for the continued and dedicated support received by Phil, his family and all those families as they go through their battle with blood cancer.
